So here it is, my first official blog post of the new year (and decade). I did say I would post on Sunday, and it is currently a Thursday afternoon (I promise I will post on Sunday too). I get really quite excited in January, only 3 months until the clocks change (yipeee, summer), 6 ish months left of the academic year, almost February (which means Easter eggs in shops- my absolute favourite) and a fresh start.
I use to be the kind of person who really did not believe in the whole “new year, new me” kind of thing, until around a week ago. I was sat there on Boxing day with my 2020 diary in my hand thinking, thinking what I want to do in my life, what I want to achieve in 2020 that I have already not, and there I was, converted- 2020, new year, new decade, very new me. I grabbed my favourite pens (the Muji 0.5 gel ink- I will dedicate a post to stationery favourites soon) and began to make a list of goals I want to achieve in 2020.
This list making wasn’t new to me as it was something I did every year to be honest but, never really went through with. I am not going to lie to myself and say I will 100% adhere to everything on my list as that is pretty impossible, but thats not to say I won’t try. I don’t know, I feel very determined this decade, I feel eager for change and achievement. I have promised myself that I will re-join the gym and stick to it, I AM VERY DETERMINED (need to get a decent body for my graduation suit [another future post]) I will do well academically and excel at all I put my mind to.
I have also started two saving plans from this month that run through the year. The first is to save £1000 in 12-months and the second is called the 1p challenge* (I’ll provide a link that explains the 1p challenge a little more). Both of these plans for me are not a true saving but are just something I want to trial and see if they work for me or not, and if it does, come December 2020 I sense a well deserved gift to myself.
Anyway, since I mentioned stationery above, this Sunday’s post (05-01-20) will be one dedicated to stationery, what I currently have and recommend, what I really want and what didn’t turn out too well. So, be back here this Sunday for a post all about stationery- Warning, I am a bit of a fanatic.
